Many of the cities that come up on searches like these base their findings on crime but quite a few also cite very low employment and little to do as reasons. When thinking of Connecticut the two cities that constantly come up as bad places to move to are Hartford and Bridgeport.
Hartford is a large city and on the drive south or north from Massachusetts to New York it is the only city past the Worcester or Springfield, Ma.Is this new to you? Catch up here area and then there is NYC. The largest negative impact on the minds of these surveys is Hartford’s high drug and crime rate. Violent crime is pretty epidemic in Hartford and murders are not uncommon.
Bridgeport also has a high crime rate with similar statistics and population size to the Hartford. Bridgeport is a little dirtier than Hartford as well. Many people complain about the state of the city and the way the streets look.
It is a good idea to get away from the cities and live in outlying areas.
